Vorleser
A device that reads letters aloud to blind and vision impaired people.

What problem is being solved and how?
People with impaired vision or even blindness can have their letters read aloud by the Vorleser. The device is based on a Raspberry Pi and a camera, so it can be easily replicated.
Why is it a good example?
There are not always other people around to help the visually impaired. The reader enables self-reliance. It is also inexpensive and repairable due to its simple open-source design. Therefore, the device helps even in countries with poor health care.
How you can support
The device is currently in alpha stage. Support the project with your skills.
